The Swiss Garden was designed in the 1820s with serpentine paths winding around ponds and over wrought iron bridges. A fernery-grotto, a thatch seat, the Swiss Cottage and other tiny buildings are dotted around this miniature alpine landscape. Peacocks wander amid the spendid trees and shrubs.

The main building within the grounds is a grade-two listed manor house. There is also a bandstand, open-air theatre, refreshment kiosk and a children's play area. 'Bend it Like Beckham' was filmed here, and parts of 'Chocolat', were filmed in the Hall itself.
